First Impression: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation

I picked up this foundation the last time I was at Target with the intentions of wearing it to my cousin's wedding.  Because I have pretty good skin with the exception of the occasional acne (because I am a teenager) I decided to try a light coverage foundation.  Now please keep in mind that this is just a first impression not an actually review.

I have heard from quite a few people on YouTube that this is a good foundation and a dupe for Nars Sheer Glow.  Now I can't tell you if it is a dupe for the Nars foundation because I don't have it.

I paid $11.99 for it at Target but on the Neutrogena website it is $12.49 and on the Ulta website it is $12.99.  So it is a bit on the pricey side for a drugstore foundation.  The foundation doesn't have a pump and has 1fl oz which is quite average for foundation.

This product claims to have "silky-light coverage glides on for a perfectly natural look."  It is also suppose to "visibly improve skin's luminosity, tone, and texture," and to have "flawless coverage, lightweight, silky formula."

The shade range is really unimpressive.  There are a total of 12 shades and the darkest shade is Tan.  I don't recommend this to girl's with a darker skin tone because the shades might not be dark enough for you.  I have also heard a lot of people complain that there aren't enough shades with yellow undertones and they are all to pink.

I picked up shade 20 Natural Ivory because they were completely out of the lightest shade, Classic Ivory.  I used my fingers to apply it and the consistency is kind of liquidy.  My first impression when I put this on is that I looked cakey.  I have heard that it is suppose to have a dewy finish but I'm not so sure about that.  It looked really powdery on my skin.  Also the shade was to dark for me and the actual shade seemed to have quite peach colored undertones.  I found it quite weird.

I was planning on purchasing the lightest shade, Classic Ivory, which I heard had yellow undertones and if that shade was to yellow I planned on mixing it with the Natural Ivory to neutralize it.  I had posted a picture of the foundation on Instagram, saying that I was trying it out and asking if anyone else had tried it.  One of my followers had commented and eventually we got into a discussion and she recommended that I try the Maybelline Fit  Me Foundation Stick or the Revlon Nearly Naked.  So I think I'm going to return the Healthy Skin and pick up the Revlon Nearly Naked and the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick.  I might try this foundation again in the future but I'm not to impressed with it.
