My Current Foundation Routine!

Now I don't wear foundation everyday, I mainly wear it on special occasions or when I'm playing around with different makeup looks.  But lately I have been finding my self wearing foundation a lot more often because I've been testing out foundations and comparing them to others so that I can review them for you guys.  This has just been what I have been gravitating toward wearing lately when I wear foundation.

So when I'm in the mood for more coverage I have been wearing my Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation.  This foundation is just a great foundation that I highly recommend.  I have been applying this with my Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge or my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.  Now when I'm in the mood for a lighter coverage I use my Covergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream.  This is just a nice BB cream and I have been applying this with my hands.

As far as primers go, when I wear one I have been using the e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer.  This makes your skin so soft and it's only $6!  As far as it making your makeup last longer, I don't have an opinion on that because I'm still testing it out.

Now for powder I have been loving the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in the shade Fair.  This powder is just a great powder!  I find that it gives a bit more coverage over my foundation or BB cream.  I highly highly recommend, it's defiantly my favorite drugstore powder.  I have just been using my e.l.f. Powder Brush to apply it.

First Impression: L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation

I have been on a quest to find a nice light coverage foundation for weeks now.  I have tried a few but none of them have worked for me.  A lot of the time they either looked cakey or I couldn't find a shade that matched me.

I picked up this foundation when I was at Target about a week ago.  I hadn't originally planned on buying this.  I was going to get the L'Oreal True Match Dream Lumi but they were all out of the cool shades.

This foundation claims to get you "the ultimate un-makeup look."  It also says that "revolutionary liquid transforms on contact, leaving a soft powder like finish. This foundation is so amazingly lightweight it's like wearing no makeup at all!  Just shake and apply- it's magic!"  Now to claim a product is "magic" is a pretty big claim to make.

So my first thoughts when I put this one that it was really easy to apply.  It was blendable and took me no time to put it on.  I also noticed that it dried a bit fast but when it did it had a nice powder finish.  It felt lightweight and my skin did feel soft.  The shade turned out to be to yellow for me so I am going to pick up a shade with cooler undertones the next time I stop at Target.  I also noticed that it did accentuate a few dry patches that I have so I'm not sure how well this would work on people with dry skin.  As far as it  being "magic," I'm not so sure about that but it does give a nice natural look.

A con about this product is that there is no pump and this product is very liquidy so a pump would have been nice.  I am unsure about the lasting time due to the fact that I didn't wear it long.  I definatly will be buying this foundation in another shade, it has a nice powder finish, it's lightweight, and it's a great light coverage foundation.  Definatly recommend!

Comment down below and tell me if you have tried this product!  And if so please tell me your thoughts on it.  What is your favorite light coverage foundation?

First Impression: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

I went to Target yesterday to pick up a new shade of the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation because the shade I had picked up before was just a little bit to light for my skin.  I then decided to pick up another foundation because the new shade of the Nearly Naked looked quite dark and yellow.  So I ended up picking up the Maybelline Fit Me Stick and the Dream Matte Mousse because I couldn't decide.

So a little background knowledge about this foundation is that it's a mousse foundation meaning it comes in a jar and its not a liquid like most foundations.  It is $7.99 at Target and has .64 oz or 18 grams.  It comes in 12 shades, porcelain ivory being the lightest and the darkest being Cocoa Dark 3.

This product claims to be 100% velvet matte with an air soft feel.  It also claims to blend effortlessly for a soft, natural-looking, even-toned result.  I couldn't find where it said what coverage it is suppose to be but I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be a medium coverage.

I picked mine up in the lightest shade porcelain ivory which seems to match me quite well.  The texture of this product in the jar is quite interesting.  It feels just like a mousse and is very light feeling.  I used my Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge to apply it.  I am totally impressed with this product.  It is like a dream to blend, it's so easy and it feels amazing on the skin. It feels like I'm not even wearing foundation and when I touch my face it feels so soft and like my actual skin.  It is a matte finish so I defiantly think it lives up to that claim.

I think this product gives your skin an almost air brushes look.  As far as evening out your skin this product defiantly does that.  As far as it being natural looking, I am a bit torn about that.  It does look natural and not cakey at all but it is a medium coverage foundation so it doesn't look extremely natural if you get what I'm saying, but for the most part it looks fairly natural.  This defiantly is a medium coverage foundation but you could probably build it up to a full coverage.  This product is marketed toward normal to oily skin so I'm not sure how this would look on people with dry skin but it didn't look terrible on the few dry patches I have.

Overall I think this might be my new favorite foundation. The shade matches my skin very nicely and I have been really impressed with all the Maybelline foundations I have tried.  It blends so easily and you could apply this really how ever want, whether it be a sponge, a brush, or your hands.  I think that it would look great either way.  I defiantly recommend this product!
Please tell me what types of posts you want to see next.  Also if you have tried this foundation please tell me your thoughts on it in the comments below.  Please let me know if you want me to do a full out review on this product once I have worn it for a few weeks.

First Impression: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation

I picked up this foundation the last time I was at Target with the intentions of wearing it to my cousin's wedding.  Because I have pretty good skin with the exception of the occasional acne (because I am a teenager) I decided to try a light coverage foundation.  Now please keep in mind that this is just a first impression not an actually review.

I have heard from quite a few people on YouTube that this is a good foundation and a dupe for Nars Sheer Glow.  Now I can't tell you if it is a dupe for the Nars foundation because I don't have it.

I paid $11.99 for it at Target but on the Neutrogena website it is $12.49 and on the Ulta website it is $12.99.  So it is a bit on the pricey side for a drugstore foundation.  The foundation doesn't have a pump and has 1fl oz which is quite average for foundation.

This product claims to have "silky-light coverage glides on for a perfectly natural look."  It is also suppose to "visibly improve skin's luminosity, tone, and texture," and to have "flawless coverage, lightweight, silky formula."

The shade range is really unimpressive.  There are a total of 12 shades and the darkest shade is Tan.  I don't recommend this to girl's with a darker skin tone because the shades might not be dark enough for you.  I have also heard a lot of people complain that there aren't enough shades with yellow undertones and they are all to pink.

I picked up shade 20 Natural Ivory because they were completely out of the lightest shade, Classic Ivory.  I used my fingers to apply it and the consistency is kind of liquidy.  My first impression when I put this on is that I looked cakey.  I have heard that it is suppose to have a dewy finish but I'm not so sure about that.  It looked really powdery on my skin.  Also the shade was to dark for me and the actual shade seemed to have quite peach colored undertones.  I found it quite weird.

I was planning on purchasing the lightest shade, Classic Ivory, which I heard had yellow undertones and if that shade was to yellow I planned on mixing it with the Natural Ivory to neutralize it.  I had posted a picture of the foundation on Instagram, saying that I was trying it out and asking if anyone else had tried it.  One of my followers had commented and eventually we got into a discussion and she recommended that I try the Maybelline Fit  Me Foundation Stick or the Revlon Nearly Naked.  So I think I'm going to return the Healthy Skin and pick up the Revlon Nearly Naked and the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick.  I might try this foundation again in the future but I'm not to impressed with it.
