Review: NARS Nail Polish in Disco Inferno

Hey everyone!
I hope you all are having a wonderful day!  I thought I would do a review for you guys today while I wait for a video to download so I can edit it.  So the product I am going to review for toy guys today is the NARS Nail Polish in Disco Inferno, I actually mention this in my December favorites video which should be posted soon.

I hauled this nail polish in my Sephora Haul + Announcements video.  This particular shade was on sale for $5, the NARS nail polishes are about $19.  Unfortunately this shade is no longer available but I thought I would still review it because it might give you some in site on how the NARS nail polish formula is.

Disco Inferno is a beautiful silver green shade, it has very small pieces of glitter but they are very tiny and not very chunky or to noticeable.  It is kind of a metallic, reflective shade (if that made any sense).

The packaging is very nice and sleek, it's not to bulky and would be easy to store.

As far as the color, it is opaque with three coats and the formula is very nice.  I did use a base and top coat with this(just the base and top coat from OPI) but it lasted really nicely.  It probably didn't start chipping until four days of wearing it, which is really good because I am always chipping my nail polish.

Overall I really like this nail polish!  I like the formula and the color and I am really tempted to get another NARS nail polish but I just can't justify spending $20 on a nail polish.  Maybe I'll pick another one up the next time they are on sale.

Review: Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Too Cool

Hey everyone!
Sorry it's been so long since I last did a post, I have been busy with school and working on my YouTube channel.

So today I'm doing a review on a product that is somewhat new but I'm sure you all have heard of it.  It is the Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue, they are the newest baby lips that Maybelline has come out with.  I own two of them, one in the clear shade, Too Cool, and another in a tinted berry shade, Berry Soft, but today I am going to be reviewing the clear one.

Now the new Dr. Rescue baby lips are medicated lip balms, which couldn't be more perfect for the winter time, and they come in six shades.  Five of those shades are tinted and the only one that is clear is Too Cool.  This retails for around $3.49, which is a bit more pricey than the other baby lips that sell for around $2.99.

The packaging on these are different from the other baby lips Maybelline has put out.  Though they are similar to the Baby Lips Electro, the packaging is all white and the color of the letters vary on what shade you have.  For instance the clear shade has light blue letters while the Berry Soft shade has berry colored letters.  Other than that, the packaging is the same as the others.

These claim to have medicated care and twelve hour hydration.  On the Maybelline website it says, "Medicated care soothes sore lips and combats dryness."  It also claims that in one minute lips feel soothed, in one day lips look more smooth, and that in one week lips are renewed.

Now those are some pretty strong claims to make, but I have to say I am really impressed with this lip balm.  I am definitely a lip balm junkie and I honestly think that you can never have enough lip balm.  I defiantly recommend this lip balm, it is very soothing on the lips which is perfect for the winter and I'm not sure if it actually meets every single one of the claims but I definitely think that it is a good lip balm.  This helps to hydrate my chapped lips and my lips do look and feel smoother after using this.

Overall, I really like this lip balm and I highly recommend it.  I actually am almost finished with my first one and I already have a backup of it waiting to be used.

I plan on picking up more shades of the Dr. Rescue Baby lips, so be on the look out for a new post on that.  If you have tried this product, please leave a comment down below letting me know what you think of it.  Also let me know what types of posts you want to see in the future.  I hope you all are having a great Christmas!

First Impression: Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm

Hey everyone!
So if you have seen my Urban Decay and Lush Haul on my youtube channel (link below and see previous post about the video) then you will know that I received a sample of the UD Naked Skin Beauty Balm in my order.

So for the full size of this product(1 oz) it is $34 and the travel size(0.50 oz) it's $14.  Now this is suppose to be a "universal shade" meaning that one shade will work for everyone.

I'm not going to go into all the claims of this product because it didn't work for me.  The color was way to dark for my skin(I have very fair skin) and looked orange on me.  Now I have heard many people complain about bb creams making them look orange but I have never really had a problem with that until now.  Maybe it's because this is the first high end bb cream I have tried.  The coverage wasn't bad from what I could tell but the color just didn't work at all.

So overall this product was a complete fail for me.  The color was to dark and looked orange.  Now just because I didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you.  But I will not be purchasing this bb cream.

If you have tried this bb cream please let me know what you think of it in the comments down below!

Review: Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm

Hey everyone!  Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been swamped with homework but I'm going to  try to post more regularly again!

Maybe about a month ago I picked up this Almay Liquid Lip Balm from Target.  Now I picked it up because I have been wanting to do a brand review on Almay because I feel like I never hear anyone talking about their products.  Basically this product claims to have the lip conditioning care of a balm with the shiny color of a lip gloss. To be honest I'm not really into lip gloss and I don't own many of them.  I don't like the fact that they are usually sticky and personally I just don't think they look that good on me, I am more of a matte lip person.

Anyways, I picked mine up in the shade "Just Plum Good" which is kind of a darker reddish plum color but nothing to dramatic.  It is a great shade for fall and looks really nice paired with a lip stain.  Now on the website it claims that, "shiny color drenches lips with 2x hydration as lip-loving conditioners provide 194% more moisture for softer, smoother lips over time. non-sticky."

I'm not to sure if it really "conditions" your lips but I do like the fact that it isn't sticky at all.  It also doesn't have any bits of shimmer or glitter in it which I like, it just has a nice glossy finish.  As far as meeting the claims go, it isn't sticky and it does give a shiny color but I don't know if its really hydrating.  I haven't noticed it to dry out my lips or anything, but I am someone who has chapped lips a lot so I'm always wearing lip balm.  So I can't really tell if it is hydrating.

They are about $4.99 at Target and the shade range is pretty good.  They come in 10 different shades, from a bright red to a lilac to a light pink.

So my final thoughts on this product are that I actually like it.  It isn't sticky which is one of the things I hate most about lip glosses and I think it looks pretty good on me.  There is a nice shade range and it is really reasonably priced at around $4.99 because most lip glosses I see at the drugstore can be anywhere from $6 to $8.  This is a really good product for anyone looking for a non sticky lip gloss without any short of shimmer or glitter.  I don't see a lot of "liquid lip balms" out besides this one and the Maybelline Color Elixirs, which just recently came out.  But I think the Maybelline ones sell for around $8.99, which is in my opinion a bit pricey.  I have no clue if they are similar because I haven't tried the Maybelline ones but all I know is that the Almay ones are about half the price.

All in all I am really impressed with this product and I think that I might purchase a few more shades in the future.

If you have tried this product please let me know what you thought of it in the comments down below.  Also if you have tried the Maybelline Color Elixir please let me know if it is similar to the Almay one.

My Current Foundation Routine!

Now I don't wear foundation everyday, I mainly wear it on special occasions or when I'm playing around with different makeup looks.  But lately I have been finding my self wearing foundation a lot more often because I've been testing out foundations and comparing them to others so that I can review them for you guys.  This has just been what I have been gravitating toward wearing lately when I wear foundation.

So when I'm in the mood for more coverage I have been wearing my Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation.  This foundation is just a great foundation that I highly recommend.  I have been applying this with my Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge or my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.  Now when I'm in the mood for a lighter coverage I use my Covergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream.  This is just a nice BB cream and I have been applying this with my hands.

As far as primers go, when I wear one I have been using the e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer.  This makes your skin so soft and it's only $6!  As far as it making your makeup last longer, I don't have an opinion on that because I'm still testing it out.

Now for powder I have been loving the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in the shade Fair.  This powder is just a great powder!  I find that it gives a bit more coverage over my foundation or BB cream.  I highly highly recommend, it's defiantly my favorite drugstore powder.  I have just been using my e.l.f. Powder Brush to apply it.

I hope you guys liked this post!  Please comment down below telling me what your current foundation routine is.

First Impression: L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation

I have been on a quest to find a nice light coverage foundation for weeks now.  I have tried a few but none of them have worked for me.  A lot of the time they either looked cakey or I couldn't find a shade that matched me.

I picked up this foundation when I was at Target about a week ago.  I hadn't originally planned on buying this.  I was going to get the L'Oreal True Match Dream Lumi but they were all out of the cool shades.

This foundation claims to get you "the ultimate un-makeup look."  It also says that "revolutionary liquid transforms on contact, leaving a soft powder like finish. This foundation is so amazingly lightweight it's like wearing no makeup at all!  Just shake and apply- it's magic!"  Now to claim a product is "magic" is a pretty big claim to make.

So my first thoughts when I put this one that it was really easy to apply.  It was blendable and took me no time to put it on.  I also noticed that it dried a bit fast but when it did it had a nice powder finish.  It felt lightweight and my skin did feel soft.  The shade turned out to be to yellow for me so I am going to pick up a shade with cooler undertones the next time I stop at Target.  I also noticed that it did accentuate a few dry patches that I have so I'm not sure how well this would work on people with dry skin.  As far as it  being "magic," I'm not so sure about that but it does give a nice natural look.

A con about this product is that there is no pump and this product is very liquidy so a pump would have been nice.  I am unsure about the lasting time due to the fact that I didn't wear it long.  I definatly will be buying this foundation in another shade, it has a nice powder finish, it's lightweight, and it's a great light coverage foundation.  Definatly recommend!

Comment down below and tell me if you have tried this product!  And if so please tell me your thoughts on it.  What is your favorite light coverage foundation?

First Impression: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

I went to Target yesterday to pick up a new shade of the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation because the shade I had picked up before was just a little bit to light for my skin.  I then decided to pick up another foundation because the new shade of the Nearly Naked looked quite dark and yellow.  So I ended up picking up the Maybelline Fit Me Stick and the Dream Matte Mousse because I couldn't decide.

So a little background knowledge about this foundation is that it's a mousse foundation meaning it comes in a jar and its not a liquid like most foundations.  It is $7.99 at Target and has .64 oz or 18 grams.  It comes in 12 shades, porcelain ivory being the lightest and the darkest being Cocoa Dark 3.

This product claims to be 100% velvet matte with an air soft feel.  It also claims to blend effortlessly for a soft, natural-looking, even-toned result.  I couldn't find where it said what coverage it is suppose to be but I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be a medium coverage.

I picked mine up in the lightest shade porcelain ivory which seems to match me quite well.  The texture of this product in the jar is quite interesting.  It feels just like a mousse and is very light feeling.  I used my Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge to apply it.  I am totally impressed with this product.  It is like a dream to blend, it's so easy and it feels amazing on the skin. It feels like I'm not even wearing foundation and when I touch my face it feels so soft and like my actual skin.  It is a matte finish so I defiantly think it lives up to that claim.

I think this product gives your skin an almost air brushes look.  As far as evening out your skin this product defiantly does that.  As far as it being natural looking, I am a bit torn about that.  It does look natural and not cakey at all but it is a medium coverage foundation so it doesn't look extremely natural if you get what I'm saying, but for the most part it looks fairly natural.  This defiantly is a medium coverage foundation but you could probably build it up to a full coverage.  This product is marketed toward normal to oily skin so I'm not sure how this would look on people with dry skin but it didn't look terrible on the few dry patches I have.

Overall I think this might be my new favorite foundation. The shade matches my skin very nicely and I have been really impressed with all the Maybelline foundations I have tried.  It blends so easily and you could apply this really how ever want, whether it be a sponge, a brush, or your hands.  I think that it would look great either way.  I defiantly recommend this product!
Please tell me what types of posts you want to see next.  Also if you have tried this foundation please tell me your thoughts on it in the comments below.  Please let me know if you want me to do a full out review on this product once I have worn it for a few weeks.

First Impression: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation

I picked up this foundation the last time I was at Target with the intentions of wearing it to my cousin's wedding.  Because I have pretty good skin with the exception of the occasional acne (because I am a teenager) I decided to try a light coverage foundation.  Now please keep in mind that this is just a first impression not an actually review.

I have heard from quite a few people on YouTube that this is a good foundation and a dupe for Nars Sheer Glow.  Now I can't tell you if it is a dupe for the Nars foundation because I don't have it.

I paid $11.99 for it at Target but on the Neutrogena website it is $12.49 and on the Ulta website it is $12.99.  So it is a bit on the pricey side for a drugstore foundation.  The foundation doesn't have a pump and has 1fl oz which is quite average for foundation.

This product claims to have "silky-light coverage glides on for a perfectly natural look."  It is also suppose to "visibly improve skin's luminosity, tone, and texture," and to have "flawless coverage, lightweight, silky formula."

The shade range is really unimpressive.  There are a total of 12 shades and the darkest shade is Tan.  I don't recommend this to girl's with a darker skin tone because the shades might not be dark enough for you.  I have also heard a lot of people complain that there aren't enough shades with yellow undertones and they are all to pink.

I picked up shade 20 Natural Ivory because they were completely out of the lightest shade, Classic Ivory.  I used my fingers to apply it and the consistency is kind of liquidy.  My first impression when I put this on is that I looked cakey.  I have heard that it is suppose to have a dewy finish but I'm not so sure about that.  It looked really powdery on my skin.  Also the shade was to dark for me and the actual shade seemed to have quite peach colored undertones.  I found it quite weird.

I was planning on purchasing the lightest shade, Classic Ivory, which I heard had yellow undertones and if that shade was to yellow I planned on mixing it with the Natural Ivory to neutralize it.  I had posted a picture of the foundation on Instagram, saying that I was trying it out and asking if anyone else had tried it.  One of my followers had commented and eventually we got into a discussion and she recommended that I try the Maybelline Fit  Me Foundation Stick or the Revlon Nearly Naked.  So I think I'm going to return the Healthy Skin and pick up the Revlon Nearly Naked and the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick.  I might try this foundation again in the future but I'm not to impressed with it.
