Get to Know Me: The Beauty Blogger Tag

Hey everyone!  So since I'm fairly new to the whole beauty blogging community I thought I would do the Get to Know Me Tag!  I know that no one tagged me but lets pretend that someone did.

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is super curly!

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I go to a salon because I don't trust myself to dye my own hair.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
My hair is so long, curly, and thick that its hard to do anything with it that I can make look good so I pretty much wear it in a bun everyday.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
Most of the time I do my own, but if there is a special occasion coming up where I will be wearing open toed shoes/sandals I sometimes get a pedicure at a salon.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
Well lately I haven't been wearing any nail polish on my nails but when I do I usually change it about every week or every two weeks depending how long it lasts.  For my toes I wait until most of it's chipped off before repainting them.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
I tend to have my toes painted all year round but that's only because in the winter my polish tends to last longer.

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
Well since I'm newer to makeup and I like to take my time, it takes me about 30 minutes.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
That depends, if I'm wearing a BB cream or foundation I do that first then my eyes.  But if I'm not wearing a BB cream or foundation, I do my eyes then my cheeks.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
Umm....I guess you could say I collect makeup.  I have a pretty small collection but a lot of the time I like to try new looks and new colors so I do have a bit more then I need.  But I use pretty much use all of the makeup I buy, so it's not like I buy something and just have it for my collection and never get to using it because I have so much other stuff.  So you could say I collect makeup but I use everything I buy.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I have actually never worn false eyelashes before.  I have never really felt the need to wear them before.  My lashes are pretty long which can be quite annoying at times.  But I would love to try false eyelashes sometime in the future.

11. Do you wear a full face of makeup everyday?
Not really, I don't wear a full face of makeup a lot.  Especially since it's summer and I haven't really left the house much.

12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
Not always, but sometimes when I'm home alone I will try out new looks and products so I can review it for my blog.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Yes I will, most off the time I do leave the house without makeup on.

14. How many high-end products do you have?
Well not many, I have only bought a Tarte concealer and the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette.  But I do have some high-end makeup that my mom has given me because she doesn't use it.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
I decide when I'm getting dressed.  I have left out clothes from the night before that I wanted to wear, but then I always change my mind in the morning.

16. How often do you change your handbag?
I don't actually carry a handbag with me everywhere.  I prefer to carry something smaller like wristlets.  I don't change my wristlet often, currently I have been using one from Vera Bradley.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
That's kind of a hard question because I have trouble sleeping and usually never go to sleep before 11:30-12ish.  As far as when I wake up, lately I have been waking up around 10.

18. How often or when do you workout?
I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been working out lately but I'm going to start trying to get in the habit of at least doing 30 minutes of cardio every other day, then slowly work it to 30 minutes of cardio everyday.  Even if it's just something simple like walking my dog.

19. Left handed or right handed?
Left.

20. How tall are you?
I'm not a hundred percent sure but I think I'm about 5 feet tall.

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
I currently take Spanish but I am not really that good at it.

22. How many pets do you have?
I have one, a dog named Toby.

23. How often are you on Blogger?
I try to be on everyday but sometimes that doesn't always work out, so I would say about every other day.

24.  Do you usually read comments posted on blogs?
On other people's blogs, not really but on mine I do.  So if you have any thing you want to say you can post it in the comments and I will read it.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Most of the time I keep a mental list, but if I really don't want to forget it I will put it on my phone.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
I can't exactly remember but I think it's because my name is Alex and I blog, or something like that.  I added the 52 at the end because Alex Blogs wasn't available.  52 is just a random number I typed in.

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use some kind of Cannon camera, which is actually my Mom's but she never really uses it.  I don't currently have enough money saved up for a camera.  I don't know the specific name of the camera but all I know is that it's red and from Cannon.  But a lot of the time I will just use my iPhone 5 for pictures.

28. How often do you clean your house?
Not as often as I would like, but most of the times I clean it on the weekend.

29. What's your favorite color?
Green

30. Do you swear?
Sometimes

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I am going to be drawing(I go to school for art and I have some summer work to do) then probably watch YouTube videos on my iPad.  If I have time I am hoping to start another blog post.

Well that was quite a long tag!  I hope you guys enjoyed it and maybe learned something new about me.  I want to take a quick minute to say that I have been trying to change my blog's appearance but I am having trouble with blogger, it keeps saying that there is some type of error.  So if you have that same problem or know how to fix it, I would really appreciate if you put it in the comments.  Also if you have any requests or ideas on a blog post you want to see you can put it in the comments and I will try to do it.

Have a great day!
Alex

Review: Neutrogena Make-Up Removing Cleansing Towlettes

One of the main reasons I never used to wear makeup a lot was that makeup is such a pain to remove. I realize now that it was only a pain to remove because I wasn't using a good makeup remover.  Before I started using the Neutrogena makeup wipes I was using Garnier the Refreshing Remover Cleansing Towelettes.  They were an ok makeup remover and they did remove my makeup.  It's just that for eye makeup it took a lot more effort to get it off. Then I started to run low on makeup remover and I decided to pick up the Neutrogena ones.  I personally really like Neutrogena's skincare products, so I decided that since I like their skincare that I might like these makeup wipes.  Now I personally like just being able to use one product and get all my makeup off, so I prefer to use makeup wipes even for my eye makeup.  Now this product claims that it will remove all traces of makeup even waterproof mascara.  Now that's kind of a big claim because the Garnier one only claimed to "remove make-up, even mascara."  So when I went to buy a new mascara I accidentally picked up waterproof, and no joke I used the Neutrogena makeup wipes and I didn't have to continuously scrub my eyes.  It was like I was just taking off regular mascara and I swear it does such a better job then all off the other makeup removers I have tried.  This product is alcohol free, Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist tested.  There is 25 Pre-moistened towelettes in a pack, and they are $4.99 at Target.  I will put a link below to the product on the Target website if you want to learn more about them.  I defiantly will be repurchasing this product and I defiantly recommend this to anyone looking for a good makeup remover.

Review: Urban Decay Naked Basics Pallette

So I know the Urban Decay Naked Basics eye shadow palette isn't exactly new to the beauty community, but it is to me.  I've had this palette for maybe a month now, and I love using it to create natural makeup looks.  Neutrals are great because they look good on everyone and are great for people who are just starting to wear makeup  and don't know which colors look best on them.  I personally prefer a matte shadow over a shimmer, and the fact that it's an all matte palette really drew me in.  In this palette there are six neutral matte shadows, four of which are exclusive and new.  The palette it's self is very sleek and compact.  It also has a mirror which is good for touch ups.  It is a great size for traveling or even just throwing in your purse.

The first shadow in the palette is Venus, a soft off-white demi-matte.  It's the only shadow in the palette with a touch of satin.  I love to put Venus on my inner eye, it really makes my makeup pop.

The next shadow(Foxy)Urban Decay describes as a cream bisque matte and I have to agree.  Foxy is a nice cream pale yellow color.  You can wear it with other shadows or you can wear it by itself and maybe add some black eyeliner to create a winged eyeliner look.  It's great to use if your going for a very simple neutral look.

Walk of Shame(or W.O.S.) is a very light nude color.  As you can see in the swatch down below, W.O.S. is very close to my skin color.  I love using it to blend!  It's just a great nude color.

Naked 2 is taupe matte and the lightest shade of brown.  Next shadow is Faint, which is a warm, dusty brown.  I love using Faint in my crease.  The last shadow is Crave, the deepest, darkest brown/black.  Crave is great to use as an alternative to eyeliner.

The Naked Basics palette is $27 which I don't think is that bad of a price for the product.  I really like and enjoy this palette.  I only have one con and that is the fact that when I first bought it the palette was hard to open.  But now that I know how to open it, it isn't really a problem anymore.  The fact that it's a little hard to open also is a pro because this way if you just throw it in your purse it is less likely to open and make a mess everywhere.  I defiantly recommend this to someone who doesn't have a lot of neutrals, matte eye shadows.  I don't think that someone who has a lot of neutral, matte shadows already wouldn't get that much use out of it.  The shadows are really pigmented and have a great color payoff.  I give this palette 5 stars, in my opinion.
