Influenster #FrostyVoxBox First Impressions & Review

Hey everyone!
Ok so I am FINALLY getting around to talking about my #FrostyVoxBox that I received from Influenster maybe a month ago.  If you don't know what Influenster (click Influenster for link) is then click the link and/or check out some of my other Influenster first impressions videos (click for link).

Let's get into the products:

  • No7 Protect & Perfect ADVANCED Serum Sachet (Full Size: $22.99)
"This clinically proven serum is even more effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines for younger looking skin in just two weeks."

I haven't even opened this little packet, I am only 16 so I don't think this product is really something I need.  I might give it to my mom or try it myself, I can't really say anything since I haven't tried it.  It also came with a $2 off coupon for that product.

  • NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum: $1.99
"Ready to take your lips to the next level? Try out NEW Expert Last Lip Color in twenty tantalizing shades.  Get intense, amplified color and shine that lasts up to six hours!  Our moisturizing formula glides on easily for a silky, smooth, velvety finish for all day wear."

Again I have yet to try this out on my lips but I have swatched it.  It is definatly a color I will wear, it's a very pretty...umm...pinkish mauve color? I can't really describe it but I have found that usually my favorite lip products are colors I can't really even describe.  It does seem to have some shimmer in it but it doesn't seem to frosty.  Overall, I am excited to try this and there are twenty shades! And it's only $2!

  • Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea
"Live life well this holiday season with Celestial Seasonings and take a stroll down Candy Cane Lane!  It's made with the very finest green tea leaves, peppermint and other botanicals, because at Celestial Seasonings, we know you are what you steep."

Another product I am ashamed to admit I haven't tried.  This sounds really good, I am a big fan of pretty much any mint flavor.  I like the Sleepy Time tea from Celestial Seasonings, so I hope this is just as good.

  • EcoTools Hair Brush: $10.99
"EcoTools hair brushes are designed with unique features that leave you head and hair happy and healthy.  Long or short, straight or curly, EcoTools has the brush to tame any hair style with a variety of five brush head shapes and bristle designs specially created to suit every need."

The brush I received is the Sleek + Shine Finisher.  It says it's, "ultra comfort, lightweight design."  The bristles on this brush are really weird to me.  I think they are made out of plastic and this brush doesn't seem like it would work for my hair (thick, long, and wavy) but I have yet to try it.  I really like my current hair brush (the Wet Brush) but I will try this and tell you guys what I think.

  • Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: $7.49
"Gently removes all eye makeup, including long lasting and waterproof makeup, with no oily residue."

This could not have come at a more perfect time, I recently finished my Sonia Kashuk eye makeup remover and I don't have a back up.  I am really excited to try this product, I feel as though I am always on the hunt to find a new makeup remover.  Which I actually find to be quite hard, especially since I wear waterproof mascara pretty much all the time.

  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in 001 Black: $4.49
"Gives instant colour impact with its high intensity pigments.  The ultra-smooth and creamy formula glides on easily."

I am a big fan of this eyeliner in the nude color for my waterline.  I actually wanted to try this for a while now but I am not very good at eyeliner and don't like the way certain eyeliner techniques look on me, if that makes sense.  The color is very black and creamy, I have yet to try it on my eyes only because I don't wear eyeliner often.  I do really love the staying power on the nude color so hopefully this color lasts just as long.

  • McCormick Gourmet Thyme: $4.79
"The freshest flavors deserve a fresh new look! McCormick Gourmet's Thyme imparts a light minty flavor that is distinctively warm and aromatic. McCormick Gourmet Thyme can be used throughout the bay in dishes such as breakfast casseroles, hearty soups, stews, stuffing, and oven-roasted chicken."

I don't really cook, so I haven't even opened this.  I am just going to give it to my mom, I am sure she will use this with a recipe or something.  That's all I have to say for this product.

  • Fruit Vines Bites (Strawberry): $1.28-1.79

"Fruit Vine Bites are a new soft, chewy fruit candy, from the Red Vines family, available in two fruit flavors-strawberry and cherry. Low fat and made with no preservatives, Fruit Vines Bites are available in three sizes: a 2oz single serve, a 5oz hanging bag and a 10oz resealable stand-up bag and can be found at Walmart in the West, Kroger, Walgreens, Target, Safeway and Rite Aid."

I think this is the only product I've actually used and finished.  I had the strawberry flavor and I finished the whole bag.  These were good, they did have that artificial fruit flavor but that was expected.  This remind me of those soft Twizzlers and you pull apart, I loved those as a kid.  These are like that but aren't as soft and in little bites.  Overall, I liked them and might repurchase.
That is everything I got in the box!  Overall I am really excited to try these products!  Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these and what you think of them.

*These products were sent to me for free by Influenster

Spring Break Makeup Tips

Hey everyone!
Sorry I've been MIA for a while, I have been waist deep in homework.  Anyways today I'm  going to be sharing some tips for doing your makeup when it's a bit warmer outside.  I will also be doing a spring break makeup tutorial on my YouTube channel, so be sure to watch out for that.

Face Makeup:

  • Sunscreen- It is important to protect you skin from the sun.  Even if your makeup has SPF in it I would recommend putting on some sunscreen before your makeup.  Start doing this a week or two before your break, or before the weather gets warmer to get in the habit of using it.  If you don't wear sunscreen because it breaks for out, check out Neutrogena they make oil free sunscreen that claims to be break out free.
  • Primer- I recommend using a primer that claims to make your makeup last longer.  It is important to use primers all the time but it is even more important when the weather gets warmer.  This can make your makeup go on easier, look better, and last longer.
  • Tinted Moisturizer/BB Cream- Swap out your regular foundation for a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream.  This might not give you as much coverage but it will be lighter on your skin and be a bit more natural looking.  If you really need good coverage then I recommend using a concealer with a medium to full coverage and a light coverage foundation.
  • Concealer- Use a high coverage concealer for spots instead of a full coverage foundation.  Use a concealer that has good staying power and will give you a good coverage for your under eyes.  Set it with your regular powder to make sure it stays in place and prevent creasing.
  • Setting Spray- A setting spray will help to make your makeup last even longer.  You usually can get samples of the Urban Decay setting spray when you order off of their website.
  • Bronzer- Use a matte bronzer with a light hand.  If you are contouring do it lightly and make it look as natural as possible, so you don't have to much heavy makeup on your face.
  • Blush- I also recommend a natural looking matte blush.
  • Highlight- I would skip a highlight unless you wanted to do a cream highlight with a concealer.  I wouldn't recommend adding to much sparkle or shine to your face to avoid looking to shiny.
Eye Makeup:
  • Eye Primer- Just like with your face it is important to use a good primer to make your shadows last longer.  It is especially important if you have really oily eye lids.
  • Eye Shadow - Again I would use matte eye shadows so that you don't look to shiny and you can avoid lots of fall out.  I would make a really simple eye look.
  • Eyeliner- You want to use an eyeliner that you know has really good staying power.  I recommend the Rimmel Scandalize Eyeliner in Nude for your tight line.  It is not as harsh as a black and it makes you look more awake.  It also has pretty good staying power though you will need to touch it up a few times throughout the day.
  • Mascara- Use waterproof mascara to avoid your mascara smudging.  It also has really good staying power and holds a curl better.  I recommend the waterproof version of the Maybelline The Rocket.
Lip Makeup:
  • I recommend using a lip balm or a tinted lip balm.  If you want more color go with a gloss or a stain, something moisturizing that won't dry your lips out.
I hope you guys found this post helpful!  Comment down below any tips you have for wearing makeup in warm weather.

FOTD: Neutral Eyes and Bold Lips

Hey everyone!
For today's makeup I decided to go with neutral light eye shadow and a bold classic red lip.  I really like this look and for me it could easily be an everyday look.  I really like the way red lips look on me and how it contrasts with my pale skin.  I am thinking about doing a tutorial on this look on my YouTube channel, comment below if that would be something you are interested in seeing.

Face:
For my foundation I used the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in Ivory 805.  Then for my under eye concealer I used Benefit Fakeup Concealer in Light 01, which is suppose to be a hydrating crease concealer that doesn't crease.  It does crease on me though, just like all the other concealers I've tried. .  For setting my under eye concealer I used the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Cream, this powder has been discontinued but I have a backup and it's my favorite powder for setting foundation and concealer.  I also used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Fair on  a few spots I have.  I used the Estee Lauder Just Blush Eye and Cheek Powder in Rose Tutu for my blush and it is sadly discontinued.  For contouring I used the L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Powder in C3 Creamy Natural.  I also used the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Mood Light, and the Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray.

Eyes:
For my brows I used the Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in Soft Brown along with the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Blonde.  I also went ahead and used the Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara as a brow gel in order to set my brows. As for an eye prime I used the e.l.f. Eyelid Primer in Sheer and the whole eye look I used the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.  I used a combination of w.o.s. and foxy on my lid, then I used Naked 2 on my outer corner and in my crease.  I used w.o.s. to blend everything out an foxy as my brow bone highlight.  I skipped eyeliner and used my current favorite mascara which is Maybelline Volum' Express The Rocket Mascara.

Lips:
For my lips I went with a cool toned matte balm  which would be the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Standout.

Let me know if you like these FOTD posts and let me know if you want me to do more of them!

Review: Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Too Cool

Hey everyone!
Sorry it's been so long since I last did a post, I have been busy with school and working on my YouTube channel.

So today I'm doing a review on a product that is somewhat new but I'm sure you all have heard of it.  It is the Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue, they are the newest baby lips that Maybelline has come out with.  I own two of them, one in the clear shade, Too Cool, and another in a tinted berry shade, Berry Soft, but today I am going to be reviewing the clear one.

Now the new Dr. Rescue baby lips are medicated lip balms, which couldn't be more perfect for the winter time, and they come in six shades.  Five of those shades are tinted and the only one that is clear is Too Cool.  This retails for around $3.49, which is a bit more pricey than the other baby lips that sell for around $2.99.

The packaging on these are different from the other baby lips Maybelline has put out.  Though they are similar to the Baby Lips Electro, the packaging is all white and the color of the letters vary on what shade you have.  For instance the clear shade has light blue letters while the Berry Soft shade has berry colored letters.  Other than that, the packaging is the same as the others.

These claim to have medicated care and twelve hour hydration.  On the Maybelline website it says, "Medicated care soothes sore lips and combats dryness."  It also claims that in one minute lips feel soothed, in one day lips look more smooth, and that in one week lips are renewed.

Now those are some pretty strong claims to make, but I have to say I am really impressed with this lip balm.  I am definitely a lip balm junkie and I honestly think that you can never have enough lip balm.  I defiantly recommend this lip balm, it is very soothing on the lips which is perfect for the winter and I'm not sure if it actually meets every single one of the claims but I definitely think that it is a good lip balm.  This helps to hydrate my chapped lips and my lips do look and feel smoother after using this.

Overall, I really like this lip balm and I highly recommend it.  I actually am almost finished with my first one and I already have a backup of it waiting to be used.

I plan on picking up more shades of the Dr. Rescue Baby lips, so be on the look out for a new post on that.  If you have tried this product, please leave a comment down below letting me know what you think of it.  Also let me know what types of posts you want to see in the future.  I hope you all are having a great Christmas!

First Impression: Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm

Hey everyone!
So if you have seen my Urban Decay and Lush Haul on my youtube channel (link below and see previous post about the video) then you will know that I received a sample of the UD Naked Skin Beauty Balm in my order.

So for the full size of this product(1 oz) it is $34 and the travel size(0.50 oz) it's $14.  Now this is suppose to be a "universal shade" meaning that one shade will work for everyone.

I'm not going to go into all the claims of this product because it didn't work for me.  The color was way to dark for my skin(I have very fair skin) and looked orange on me.  Now I have heard many people complain about bb creams making them look orange but I have never really had a problem with that until now.  Maybe it's because this is the first high end bb cream I have tried.  The coverage wasn't bad from what I could tell but the color just didn't work at all.

So overall this product was a complete fail for me.  The color was to dark and looked orange.  Now just because I didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you.  But I will not be purchasing this bb cream.

If you have tried this bb cream please let me know what you think of it in the comments down below!

Review: Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm

Hey everyone!  Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been swamped with homework but I'm going to  try to post more regularly again!

Maybe about a month ago I picked up this Almay Liquid Lip Balm from Target.  Now I picked it up because I have been wanting to do a brand review on Almay because I feel like I never hear anyone talking about their products.  Basically this product claims to have the lip conditioning care of a balm with the shiny color of a lip gloss. To be honest I'm not really into lip gloss and I don't own many of them.  I don't like the fact that they are usually sticky and personally I just don't think they look that good on me, I am more of a matte lip person.

Anyways, I picked mine up in the shade "Just Plum Good" which is kind of a darker reddish plum color but nothing to dramatic.  It is a great shade for fall and looks really nice paired with a lip stain.  Now on the website it claims that, "shiny color drenches lips with 2x hydration as lip-loving conditioners provide 194% more moisture for softer, smoother lips over time. non-sticky."

I'm not to sure if it really "conditions" your lips but I do like the fact that it isn't sticky at all.  It also doesn't have any bits of shimmer or glitter in it which I like, it just has a nice glossy finish.  As far as meeting the claims go, it isn't sticky and it does give a shiny color but I don't know if its really hydrating.  I haven't noticed it to dry out my lips or anything, but I am someone who has chapped lips a lot so I'm always wearing lip balm.  So I can't really tell if it is hydrating.

They are about $4.99 at Target and the shade range is pretty good.  They come in 10 different shades, from a bright red to a lilac to a light pink.

So my final thoughts on this product are that I actually like it.  It isn't sticky which is one of the things I hate most about lip glosses and I think it looks pretty good on me.  There is a nice shade range and it is really reasonably priced at around $4.99 because most lip glosses I see at the drugstore can be anywhere from $6 to $8.  This is a really good product for anyone looking for a non sticky lip gloss without any short of shimmer or glitter.  I don't see a lot of "liquid lip balms" out besides this one and the Maybelline Color Elixirs, which just recently came out.  But I think the Maybelline ones sell for around $8.99, which is in my opinion a bit pricey.  I have no clue if they are similar because I haven't tried the Maybelline ones but all I know is that the Almay ones are about half the price.

All in all I am really impressed with this product and I think that I might purchase a few more shades in the future.

If you have tried this product please let me know what you thought of it in the comments down below.  Also if you have tried the Maybelline Color Elixir please let me know if it is similar to the Almay one.

I went to Target yesterday to pick up a new shade of the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation because the shade I had picked up before was just a little bit to light for my skin.  I then decided to pick up another foundation because the new shade of the Nearly Naked looked quite dark and yellow.  So I ended up picking up the Maybelline Fit Me Stick and the Dream Matte Mousse because I couldn't decide.

So a little background knowledge about this foundation is that it's a mousse foundation meaning it comes in a jar and its not a liquid like most foundations.  It is $7.99 at Target and has .64 oz or 18 grams.  It comes in 12 shades, porcelain ivory being the lightest and the darkest being Cocoa Dark 3.

This product claims to be 100% velvet matte with an air soft feel.  It also claims to blend effortlessly for a soft, natural-looking, even-toned result.  I couldn't find where it said what coverage it is suppose to be but I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be a medium coverage.

I picked mine up in the lightest shade porcelain ivory which seems to match me quite well.  The texture of this product in the jar is quite interesting.  It feels just like a mousse and is very light feeling.  I used my Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge to apply it.  I am totally impressed with this product.  It is like a dream to blend, it's so easy and it feels amazing on the skin. It feels like I'm not even wearing foundation and when I touch my face it feels so soft and like my actual skin.  It is a matte finish so I defiantly think it lives up to that claim.

I think this product gives your skin an almost air brushes look.  As far as evening out your skin this product defiantly does that.  As far as it being natural looking, I am a bit torn about that.  It does look natural and not cakey at all but it is a medium coverage foundation so it doesn't look extremely natural if you get what I'm saying, but for the most part it looks fairly natural.  This defiantly is a medium coverage foundation but you could probably build it up to a full coverage.  This product is marketed toward normal to oily skin so I'm not sure how this would look on people with dry skin but it didn't look terrible on the few dry patches I have.

Overall I think this might be my new favorite foundation. The shade matches my skin very nicely and I have been really impressed with all the Maybelline foundations I have tried.  It blends so easily and you could apply this really how ever want, whether it be a sponge, a brush, or your hands.  I think that it would look great either way.  I defiantly recommend this product!
Please tell me what types of posts you want to see next.  Also if you have tried this foundation please tell me your thoughts on it in the comments below.  Please let me know if you want me to do a full out review on this product once I have worn it for a few weeks.
