Tarte Rainforest After Dark Limited-Edition Colored Clay Eye & Cheek Palette ~ Tarte Fall 2014

Hey everyone!
Not to long ago I posted a blog post about the new products coming out in the Tarte Fall 2014 collection (click here to see it).  In the collection there is a new limited-edition eye and cheek palette called Rainforest After Dark.  The packaging is similar to the other limited edition palettes that Tarte has launched before.

  The shades include:

  • bare to explore (pink beige)
  • make a mauve (plum mauve)
  • plum away with me (dark plum)
  • up to no gold (gold)
  • tan-gled up in you (tan)
  • don't turn a-brown (dark brown)
  • unleashed (nude rose blush)
  • champagne (highlighter)
  • park ave princess (bronzer)

This palette has six eye shadows, one blush, one bronzer, and one highlight.  I am interested in this palette, it is very pretty, but I'm going to wait for some other beauty bloggers to post swatches of this palette because I'm not sure how many mattes there are.  Lately I have been into more matte shades then shimmer.

This is limited-edition and already available on the Tarte, Sephora, and Ulta websites.  If you are interested maybe wait until it is in your local Sephora and Ulta to go and see it in person and swatch it.  Though Tarte tends to have great pigmented eye shadows and quite nice products.  This retails for $38 and if you purchase it please tag me in a post on instagram, leave a comment below, even leave a link to your blog or YouTube below.  I would love to know your thoughts on this palette.

Makeup Collection 2014: Concealers

Hey everyone!
Today I'm going to be showing you the concealers that I currently have in my makeup collection!

Tarte BB Tinted Undereye Corrector (fair to light)
I got this Tarte concealer in the Beauty Without Boundaries set from QVC earlier this year.  This is a corrector meaning that it is suppose to mask the appearance of dark circles and discoloration.  It has a more peachy or salmon like color to it.  I haven't used it in a while but it does a pretty good job of masking my dark circles.  I recommend setting it with a very light or translucent powder because a powder with coverage can make it look a bit orange.  The concealer is still available on the QVC website for $29, click here to see it.  You can also purchase it on the Tarte website for $34, click here to see it.

Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer (01 Porcelain)
Now I haven't used this concealer enough to say whether I love it or not, but I do still have some thoughts on it from the few times I've tried it.  This is suppose to be a full coverage concealer with a dewy or satin finish. The product comes in a jar and with the lightest touch you get a nice coverage, less is more with this product.  It seems to be a good concealer but I can't really say anything until I try it out some more.  You can purchase this at Target for around $9, click here to see it.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer (Radiant)
This concealer seems to be popular with a lot of people.  It was never my favorite concealer, I have very dark circles and this I feel like doesn't cover them as well as my Fit Me concealer but it does cover them.  It's good for a natural look.  The shade I have is Radiant which is suppose to be a good highlighting shade, but on me (I'm very fair) it is more close to my skin tone but for anyone darker than me (light, medium, etc.) it should be fine.  This shade has a very pinkish undertone to it so if you have more yellow undertones this might not be the best for you.  You can find this at your local drugstore, click here to see it.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (Fair)
So far I have to say this is currently one of my top concealers.  It has great coverage and it's just a great concealer, plus its from the drugstore.  I use it for my undereyes and any blemishes, it has a doe foot applicator and I definatly recommend checking it out.  It doesn't really crease to much (keep in mind that every concealer I have tried has creased on me) and I just set it with a powder and I'm good to go.  Great concealer and you can find it at your local drugstore, click here to see it.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealer (Light)
This is the first concealer I ever got, it is a stick concealer.  I had purchased it before I was into makeup to cover up some blemishes that I had.  It is a good concealer, great for travel, and easy to blend.  As far as coverage its defiantly medium to full but I find that's the case with most stick concealers.  I haven't used it in a while but I do think its a nice concealer.  It comes in 8 different shades and it is $22 on the Tarte website, click here to see it.

Benefit Fake Up Concealer (01 Light)
Last but not least we have a "hydrating crease-control concealer" from Benefit.  Now I do like this concealer and I bought it at a time when my under eye area was a bit dry and I think it's hydrating (Keep in mind I haven't used this in a while).  I didn't find it to be drying at all.  It helped brighten my undereye circles and its a good product.  It is a stick concealer, downside being it only comes in 3 shades (light, medium, deep).  I think it's definatly a product worth trying, it was good at brightening and was hydrating.  You can get this anywhere that sells Benefit Cosmetics for $24, click here to see it.

Those are all the concealers I own, I hope you all enjoyed this post.  Comment below and let me know what part of my makeup collection you want to see next.  Also let me know what kinds of posts you guys are interested in seeing.  Thanks for reading!

New Tarte Colored Clay 7-Pc Collection on QVC!

Hey everyone!

Last night Tarte released their new value set on QVC.  The new set is called the Tarte Colored Clay 7-Pc Collection and is exclusive to QVC.  Now Tarte releases these sets a few times a year on QVC and they are usually the TSV(todays special value) and the set is usually about $59 on the first day.  The price is originally $72.50 and it is now $65.96.  You get seven products and a bonus makeup bag. The set comes in five different shades: fair, light, medium, tan, and deep.

The cool thing about this set is that every product is FULL SIZED and the total value of this set is $202.  I definitely think this is a good value and I also think that Tarte sets on QVC are just generally good values, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

The first product that comes in the set is the new Colored Clay SPF 15 Liquid Foundation.  Now this foundation is 0.68 oz and comes in a jar like container.  I am not sure if this product will eventually be sold separately but right now I believe it is exclusive to this set.  This foundation supposedly is, "lightweight liquid foundation easily smooths over skin to deliver a satiny, full coverage finish."  This product retails for $39, and comes in five shades.  This set also includes a Bamboo foundation brush that retails for $30 on its own.  It seems to be a nice dense angled brush.  I have gotten Tarte brushes in other sets I have purchased and I have to say that I am really impressed with them and they are really nice quality.

The next product in the set is the CC Primer which is a stick primer that is suppose to help brighten skin, neutralize redness and discoloration, and blue imperfections.  This primer is 0.51 oz and retails for $34.  This is one of the few products that can be purchased separately at Sephora, Ulta, or on Tarte's website.
Then it comes with a LipSurgence Lip Gloss in True Love, which is a sheer raspberry shade.  This retails for $19 and is 0.27 oz.

You also get Tarte's lights, camera, LASHES mascara in black and a clay eyeliner in black.  These both retail for $19 and you can buy the mascara at Ulta, Sephora, or on Tarte's website.

The last item is the Clay Blush Bronzer in Pink Bronze.  This is suppose to brighten your look and you can build you perfect layer of customized warmth.  This retails for $27 and I believe it is also exclusive to this set.  You also get a pink bonus makeup bag that on it's own retails for $15.

Tell me what you think of this kit in the comments below and if it's something you would be interested in purchasing.  I purchased mine last night and I will be doing a review on my YouTube channel when I get it.
